Download Free Implementation Fidelity in Education Research PDF by Coby Meyers Full Book and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-09-25 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Implementation science is an important and underrepresented topic in the literature of educational research, despite the fact that it is inextricably tied to education policy and improvement. Implementation fidelity (the degree to which a program or intervention is delivered as planned) is, in particular, a key issue for every program developer and researcher designing, executing, interpreting, or communicating their work. Implementation Fidelity in Education Research provides the first serious developer-evaluator collaborative perspective on the practical considerations of implementation fidelity in program development. Using case studies from Investing in Innovation (i3) fund grants, this book prepares future researchers for the challenges posed by implementation issues both ideologically and in practice. This book will be an excellent resource for anyone interested in education research and evaluation and an excellent supplement to research methods courses.
Download Free Fidelity to Our Imperfect Constitution PDF by James E. Fleming Full Book and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2015-07-17 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, some have asked "Are we all originalists now?" and many have assumed that originalists have a monopoly on concern for fidelity in constitutional interpretation. In Fidelity to Our Imperfect Constitution, James Fleming rejects originalisms-whether old or new, concrete or abstract, living or dead. Instead, he defends what Ronald Dworkin called a "moral reading" of the United States Constitution, or a "philosophic approach" to constitutional interpretation. He refers to conceptions of the Constitution as embodying abstract moral and political principles-not codifying concrete historical rules or practices-and of interpretation of those principles as requiring normative judgments about how they are best understood-not merely historical research to discover relatively specific original meanings. Through examining the spectacular concessions that originalists have made to their critics, he shows the extent to which even they acknowledge the need to make normative judgments in constitutional interpretation. Fleming argues that fidelity in interpreting the Constitution as written requires a moral reading or philosophic approach. Fidelity commits us to honoring our aspirational principles, not following the relatively specific original meanings (or original expected applications) of the founders. Originalists would enshrine an imperfect Constitution that does not deserve our fidelity. Only a moral reading or philosophic approach, which aspires to interpret our imperfect Constitution so as to make it the best it can be, gives us hope of interpreting it in a manner that may deserve our fidelity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Treatment Fidelity in Studies of Educational Intervention is a detailed guide to the increasing emphasis on methodological rigor and implementation fidelity in educational research. A timely contribution to the field, this book offers practical guidance and systematic research on the nature of implementation fidelity in experimental settings, and provides strategies for combining fidelity-related data with other data types to evaluate a program’s impact in schools and other educational settings. With contributions from leading scholars in the area of research methods in education, Treatment Fidelity synthesizes recommendations for current measurement practices, case studies of recent or ongoing research programs, and technical evaluation reports on studies that measure and model fidelity as part of estimating a treatment’s impact. Intended for scholars, professionals, and graduate students interested in school-based intervention, this volume presents information on how to address implementation in applied research.

Download Free Fealty and Fidelity: The Lazarists of Bourbon France, 1660-1736 PDF by Seán Alexander Smith Full Book and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-03-09 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The career of the French saint Vincent de Paul has attracted the attention of hundreds of authors since his death in 1660, but the fate of his legacy - entrusted to the body of priests called the Congregation of the Mission (Lazarists) - remains vastly neglected. De Paul spent a lifetime working for the reform of the clergy and the evangelization of the rural poor. After his death, his ethos was universally lauded as one of the most important elements in the regeneration of the French church, but what happened to this ethos after he died? This book provides a thorough examination of the major activities of de Paul’s immediate followers. It begins by analysing the unique model of religious life designed by de Paul - a model created in contradistinction to more worldly clerical institutes, above all the Society of Jesus. Before he died, de Paul made very clear that fidelity to this model demanded that his disciples avoid the corridors of power. However, this book follows the subsequent departures from this command to demonstrate that the Congregation became one of the most powerful orders in France. The book includes a study of the termination of the little-known Madagascar mission, which was closed in 1671. This mission, replete with colonial scandal and mismanagement, revealed the terrible pressures on de Paul’s followers in the decade after his demise. The end of the mission occasioned the first major reassessment of the Congregation’s goals as a missionary institute, and involved abandoning some of the goals the founder had nourished. The rest of the book reveals how the Lazarists recovered from the setbacks of Madagascar, famously becoming parish priests of Louis XIV at Versailles in 1672. From then on, fealty to Louis XIV gradually trumped fidelity to de Paul. The book also investigates the darker side of the Congregation’s novel alliance with the monarch, by examining its treatment of Huguenot prisoners at Marseille later in the century, and its involvement with the slave trade in the Indian Ocean. This study is a wide-ranging investigation of the Lazarists’ activities in the French Empire, ultimately concluding that they eclipsed the Society of Jesus. Finally, it contributes new information to the literature on Louis XIV’s prickly relationship with religious agents that will surprise historians working in this area.

Download Free Simulation-Driven Aerodynamic Design Using Variable-Fidelity Models PDF by Leifur Leifsson Full Book and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2015-01-09 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computer simulations is a fundamental tool of the design process in many engineering disciplines including aerospace engineering. However, although high-fidelity numerical models are accurate, they can be computationally expensive with evaluation time for a single design as long as hours, days or even weeks. Simulation-driven design using conventional optimization techniques may be therefore prohibitive. This book explores the alternative: performing computationally efficient design using surrogate-based optimization, where the high-fidelity model is replaced by its computationally cheap but still reasonably accurate representation: a surrogate. The emphasis is on physics-based surrogates. Application-wise, the focus is on aerodynamics and the methods and techniques described in the book are demonstrated using aerodynamic shape optimization cases. Applications in other engineering fields are also demonstrated. State-of-the-art techniques and a depth of coverage never published before make this a unique and essential book for all researchers working in aerospace and other engineering areas and dealing with optimization, computationally expensive design problems, and simulation-driven design.
