Download Free Partial Differential Equations in Physics PDF by Full Book and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 1949-01-01 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The topic with which I regularly conclude my six-term series of lectures in Munich is the partial differential equations of physics. We do not really deal with mathematical physics, but with physical mathematics; not with the mathematical formulation of physical facts, but with the physical motivation of mathematical methods. The oftmentioned “prestabilized harmony between what is mathematically interesting and what is physically important is met at each step and lends an esthetic - I should like to say metaphysical -- attraction to our subject. The problems to be treated belong mainly to the classical matherhatical literature, as shown by their connection with the names of Laplace, Fourier, Green, Gauss, Riemann, and William Thomson. In order to show that these methods are adequate to deal with actual problems, we treat the propagation of radio waves in some detail in Chapter VI.

Download Free Partial Differential Equations in Clifford Analysis PDF by Elena Obolashvili Full Book and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1999-01-06 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Clifford analysis represents one of the most remarkable fields of modern mathematics. With the recent finding that almost all classical linear partial differential equations of mathematical physics can be set in the context of Clifford analysis-and that they can be obtained without applying any physical laws-it appears that Clifford analysis itself can suggest new equations or new generalizations of classical equations that may have some physical content. Partial Differential Equations in Clifford Analysis considers-in a multidimensional space-elliptic, hyperbolic, and parabolic operators related to Helmholtz, Klein-Gordon, Maxwell, Dirac, and heat equations. The author addresses two kinds of parabolic operators, both related to the second-order parabolic equations whose principal parts are the Laplacian and d'Alembertian: an elliptic-type parabolic operator and a hyperbolic-type parabolic operator. She obtains explicit integral representations of solutions to various boundary and initial value problems and their properties and solves some two-dimensional and non-local problems. Written for the specialist but accessible to non-specialists as well, Partial Differential Equations in Clifford Analysis presents new results, reformulations, refinements, and extensions of familiar material in a manner that allows the reader to feel and touch every formula and problem. Mathematicians and physicists interested in boundary and initial value problems, partial differential equations, and Clifford analysis will find this monograph a refreshing and insightful study that helps fill a void in the literature and in our knowledge.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Springer Handbook of Enzymes provides concise data on some 5,000 enzymes sufficiently well characterized – and here is the second, updated edition. Their application in analytical, synthetic and biotechnology processes as well as in food industry, and for medicinal treatments is added. Data sheets are arranged in their EC-Number sequence. The new edition reflects considerable progress in enzymology: the total material has more than doubled, and the complete 2nd edition consists of 39 volumes plus Synonym Index. Starting in 2009, all newly classified enzymes are treated in Supplement Volumes.

Hörmander's treatise on linear partial differential equations. They constitute the most complete and up-to-date account of this subject, by the author who has dominated it and made the most significant contributions in the last decades.....It is a superb book, which must be present in every mathematical library, and an indispensable tool for all - young and old - interested in the theory of partial differential operators." L. Boutet de Monvel in Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society, 1987. "This treatise is outstanding in every respect and must be counted among the great books in mathematics. It is certainly no easy reading (...) but a careful study is extremely rewarding for its wealth of ideas and techniques and the beauty of presentation." J. Brüning in Zentralblatt MATH, 1987.

Download Free Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations PDF by Helge Holden Full Book and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-01-14 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The topic of the 2010 Abel Symposium, hosted at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, Oslo, was Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations, the study of which is of fundamental importance in mathematics and in almost all of natural sciences, economics, and engineering. This area of mathematics is currently in the midst of an unprecedented development worldwide. Differential equations are used to model phenomena of increasing complexity, and in areas that have traditionally been outside the realm of mathematics. New analytical tools and numerical methods are dramatically improving our understanding of nonlinear models. Nonlinearity gives rise to novel effects reflected in the appearance of shock waves, turbulence, material defects, etc., and offers challenging mathematical problems. On the other hand, new mathematical developments provide new insight in many applications. These proceedings present a selection of the latest exciting results by world leading researchers.

Download Free Methods in Protein Structure Analysis PDF by M. Zouhair Atassi Full Book and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 534 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The MPSA international conference is held in a different country every two years. It is devoted to methods of determining protein structure with emphasis on chemistry and sequence analysis. Until the ninth conference, MPSA was an acronym for Methods in Protein Sequence Analysis. To give the conference more flexibility and breadth, the Scientific Advisory Committee of the lOth MPSA decided to change the name to Methods in Protein Structure Analysis; however, the emphasis remains on "methods" and on "chemistry. " In fact, this is the only major conference that is devoted to methods. The MPSA conference is truly international, a fact clearly reflected by the composi tion of its Scientific Advisory Committee. The Scientific Advisory Committee oversees the scientific direction of the MPSA and elects the chairman of the conference. Members of the committee are elected by active members, based on scientific standing and activity. The chairman, subject to approval of the Scientific Advisory Committee, appoints the Organizing Committee. It is this latter committee that puts the conference together. The lectures of the MPSA have traditionally been published in a special proceedings issue. This is different from, and more detailed than, the special MPSA issue of the Journal of Protein Chemistry in which only a brief description of the talks is given in short papers and abstracts. In the I Oth MPSA, about half the talks are by invited speakers and the remainder were selected from submitted short papers and abstracts.

This book was released on 2012-09-18 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonlinear functional analysis is an important branch of contemporary mathematics. It's related to topology, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, groups, dynamical systems, differential geometry, measure theory, and more. In this book, the author presents some new and interesting results on fundamental methods in nonlinear functional analysis, namely variational, topological and partial order methods, which have been used extensively to solve existence of solutions for elliptic equations, wave equations, Schrödinger equations, Hamiltonian systems etc., and are also used to study the existence of multiple solutions and properties of solutions. This book is useful for researchers and graduate students in the field of nonlinear functional analysis.
