Download Free Power Encounter in Spiritual Warfare PDF by Charles H. Kraft Full Book and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2017-05-18 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Acceptance of Christianity in Southern Polynesia during the eighteenth century proceeded rapidly without missionary activity. This fact attracted the attention of Alan Tippett, who served for twenty years as an Australian missionary to the Fiji Islands. What he found was that the key to their conversion lay in the fact that, without missionary presence, the south sea islanders responded to demonstrations of what Tippett learned to call "power encounters." These were contests, some staged, some not staged, in which there was a power encounter between the true God and the gods of the islanders in which the traditional gods were defeated. Kraft here discusses the fact that this power principle applies much more widely.

Download Free Strategies for Church Growth PDF by C. Peter Wagner Full Book and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why Plan Strategy? Is church growth theory incompatible with belief in the sovereignty of God? Does adherence to church growth principles leave out dependency upon the work of the Holy Spirit? C. Peter Wagner answers no to both questions. He further believes that no task could be more crucial than fulfilling the Great Commission in our generation, and how to approach and plan for the execution of this task is the questions of the day. Strategies for Church Growth addresses this key issue in a biblically pragmatic way. It brings together for the first time many principles of evangelism and missions which have proved, through recent research and experience, to be effective in implementing the Great Commission. It also unifies, in concise form, the latest research of the Church Growth Movement, the Lausanne Committee on World Evangelization, the U.S. Center for World Mission and numerous other key contributors to the recent explosion of evangelistic technology. Among the topics explored are: - the major components of strategy - choosing the appropriate strategy - advantages of having a strategy - the theology of church growth - the harvest principle and soil testing - why you should aim for church growth - characteristics of good goals - the meaning of mission and evangelism - how to target your outreach

Jaeson Ma offers a powerful vision of what God is radically doing in this generation. Students are already being set on fire for God, planting missional communities, praying fervently, and stepping out in faith to see God move in power to reach the lost. Through his own personal stories, student testimonies, and practical biblical teaching, Ma envisions and practically equips student and staff leaders to change themselves and their campuses for Christ. Readers of The Blueprint will receive a clear vision for revival and reformation of society, a specific spiritual DNA (passion for prayer, power evangelism, and planting simple churches), and practical tools to see the vision for reformation become a reality. That's the plan. Now to see the revolution unfold!

Download Free Divine Violence and the Christus Victor Atonement Model PDF by Martyn J. Smith Full Book and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2016-09-23 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book Martyn Smith addresses the issue of God's violence and refuses to shy away from difficult and controversial conclusions. Through his wide-ranging and measured study he reflects upon God and violence in both biblical and theological contexts, assessing the implications of divine violence for understanding and engaging with God's nature and character. Jesus too, through his dramatic actions in the temple, is presented as one capable of exhibiting a surprising degree of violent behavior in the furtherance of God's purposes. Through a reappropriation of the ancient Christus Victor model of atonement, with its dramatic representation of God's war with the Satan, Smith proposes that Christian understanding of both God and salvation has to return to its long-neglected past in order to move forward, both biblically and dynamically, into the future.
